Great news! Wonder Woman 3 is officially back, on track. Gal Gadot will be joining forces with director James Gunn, known for his work on Superman; Legacy.
The DC Universe in film is taking a direction under the leadership of James Gunn and Peter Safran. Despite these changes it seems that Gal Gadot will still have a role to play in Wonder Womans future. We first saw Gadot as Diana Prince in Batman v Superman; Dawn of Justice in 2016. She then took stage in Wonder Woman (2017) and its sequel, Wonder Woman 1984 (2020) alongside Chris Pine as Steve Trevor. Both films were brilliantly directed by Patty Jenkins. Additionally Gadot made appearances in Justice League and its directors cut helmed by Zack Snyder.
With Gunn and Safran leading the renamed DC Studios at Warner Bros. plans for Patty Jenkins to direct Wonder Woman 3 were changed. This left fans wondering about Gadots future as the superheroine. The situation became more confusing when she made a cameo appearance in Shazam! Fury of the Gods. Had her cameo cut from The Flash movie, where she was meant to appear alongside Ben Affleck as Batman and Henry Cavill as Superman.
Despite all the uncertainties we can now celebrate knowing that Gal Gadot will continue her portrayal of Wonder Woman under James Gunns direction, for the anticipated third installment.
In an interview, with Chris Killian from ComicBook.com while discussing her upcoming Netflix film Heart of Stone Gal Gadot revealed that she will be collaborating with James Gunn and Peter Safran to create Wonder Woman 3. Gadot expressed her affection for portraying the character emphasizing how special it is to her. According to Gadot, James and Peter have shared their plans, for developing Wonder Woman 3 as an effort.
Gal Gadot shared her thoughts on the casting of Superman, in the movie "Superman; Legacy" directed by Gunn. While she was not aware of who landed the roles she mentioned that there were screen tests taking place and everyone involved seemed talented and deserving.
Regarding Wonder Womans future in the DC Universe it remains uncertain as to what Gunn and Safran have planned. Currently there is no Wonder Woman movie included in the lineup of projects for Chapter One titled "Gods and Monsters." However there are discussions, about a Max series called "Paradise Lost," which will delve into stories set among the Amazons on it seems that Gunn has expressed his enthusiasm, for the possibility of creating an animated series centered around Wonder Woman.
Gal Gadot is the lead actress, in Heart of Stone which can be streamed on Netflix. In this Netflix movie Gadot portrays the character of Rachel Stone, a spy. The synopsis describes Rachel as an intelligence agent who holds a role, in a peacekeeping organization. She is tasked with safeguarding their perilous assed.
Tom Harper helmed Heart of Stone a film written by Greg Rucka (known for The Old Guard). Allison Schroeder, which is based on Ruckas story. Alongside Gadot, Jamie Dornan and Alia Bhatt also take part in Heart of Stone. You can catch the premiere of Heart of Stone, on Netflix starting from August 11th.
